I Don't Wanna See You Anymore I'm just not that strong. I love it when you're here, but I'm better when you're gone.

Weeks
POSTED AT 03:07 AM

I haven't updated in weeks. My God. I have a whole pile of things to update about. So let's get started shall we?

Chinese LT: Not that hard, but not that easy either. And on the day of the LT (the tenth of March, which is also, coincidentally, Dad's birthday), she spoke three Cantonese words to me.

Okay, she said I was insane, but Cantonese is Cantonese!!!

I stayed til six yesterday simply because my driver did not choose to make himself visible to me. God. But! I got to go to...

The Jesuit Residence!

See, Gelo, Michael (Ilagan), Filbert and I were sitting on a bench outside the teacher's workroom and talking. (Well, Gelo did most of the talking... And Filbert never found out what (fukien) "pi bit" means.)

Then Bro. Haw chances by and asks us if we aren't doing anything. I thought he was gonna ask us to go help him do something. But instead, he asked us if we would like to go with him to the (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Jesuit Residence (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) for some snacks.

WOULD WE??????

But I was abstaining yesterday, so I said I'd just tag along and look around, and Brother goes "Nag-aabstain ka? You're holier than me..."

... I don't think so ...

Of course, good old Filbert's been up there quite a few times, but it was an exhilarating experience for me.

We went over to the High 4 area and entered the Jesuit Residence via the Elevator. When we got to the elevator, as we were stepping inside, Gelo said "Ah, may elevator pala dito."

Brother, being the infinitely kind soul that he is, worries and asks "Why, are you claustrophobic?"

Gelo: What's claustrophobic?

Me/Brother/Filbert: Fear of closed spaces.

Gelo: Ah hindi. Pero hindi kaya, overweight yung...

Which was directed at Brother Haw. Ouch. Brother goes to press the button and says "Sige, baba na tayo ulit."

Jokingly, of course.

So we get there, Brother opens the gate and we see one of the most dazzling places I've ever seen. There's a large area with animals (birds and a dog (which is the one that Brother Jiang used to take for walks and has been receiving medication lately because he's sick)) where whasisname, that Shanghainese Librarian guy, is sitting and chatting. Brother explains he just invited us up for snacks.

We pass by the long green passage way that we have always seen from the place just outside the MPC (NOT the MPH). If you look up, you can't miss it. And I was all, "So this is what it's like..."

We head across to the main area, like the living area or something. At first, we see a room where they probably hold prayer services or something. Brother comments: "Kung sa government, "this is where your taxes go..." sa amin naman, "this is where your tuition goes."

LOLness!

I didn't see the bedrooms, though. Anyhoo, we see a large place with couches, candles, a large dried up glop of clay, magazine racks, different rooms, a nice dining area, and the kitchen.

I'm almost sold to becoming a priest just for this.

There was a sunset occurring at the time, so everything was all unearthly-golden and stuff. And there were windows between the wall between the pathway and the dining area. It was really ingenius, cos usually, you'd want a defined sense of space of where the dining area is, the living area, etc... but they merged the two. It's ingenious. That way, everything becomes more spaceous. Wow.

I glance at the schedule and see Father Go is going to Sydney and somewhere else. Hmm... I then proceed to relay the story of Father-Go-in-Canada and how that was just wrong.

And there was liquor at a far end table, bottles of wine on the top shelves, a nice ref with magnets and stuff, and three tables of varying diameters that probably fit all the priests.

Brother took out some Mango-Peach iced cream and gave it to us to eat, but it was hard and frozen, so he washed it a bit, and then uncapped it. We chatted some more, and Michael and gelo entered the kitchen and looked around.

I was abstaining, (and I had cough) so I didn't eat any iced cream.

But I cut slabs of the Mango-Peach iced cream for Filbert, Michael and Gelo. It was nice, all family-homey and stuff. We all sat around the tables and stuff, in this order: Filbert on the side of the pigeon hole things on the wall, me on Filbert's left, Brother Haw on mine, Gelo on Brother's, and Michael on Gelo's. There were five slots on the table, so it was complete.

We talked about Poorness, and Richness, and Gelo explained that everyone depends on donations, and that's not good. Especially the Filipinos." Brother goes, again, jokingly (i think... I hope...) "Kumain ka na nga ng Iced Cream e..." LOL!

And Filbert comments that naka dalawang strike na siya kay Brother.

I tell him it must be convenient to live here because if he leaves work downstairs, he can just get it. Being late even if you live in the school already comes up as a topic, (Brother: Siyempre, nakakahiya naman yung, nakatira ka na nga dito, tapos malalate ka pa.). Later one, Brother comments that "dumudugo ang utak ko sa inyo... kumain na lang kayo ng Iced Cream."

And in the Ref, when I went to look inside, I saw at least a dozen bottles of Coke (when we got there, Brother asked us if we wanted some coke, even if it wasn't allowed in Xavier, and we said no thanks, anyway. Gelo comments he doesn't get why it's bawal in the first place), and beneath that.... beer... San Miguel beer... Not so holy after all, are they?

So, I can triumphantly and honestly say that I've been inside the Jesuit's fridge. HAH!

Anyway, Brother brings us to see their Audio Visual Room and their TV room, which are actually labelled on the doors as TV Room and Audio Visual Room, respectively. Ironic eh?

So the ACTUAL Audio Visual Room smells damn nice... all sweet and fruity and stuff, and inside, you can see the a large TV with all these components, plus surround sound. These people... and to think they're supposed to be simple... hahaha.

And he shows us a copy of Aeon Flux (WHEEE!) and other stuff that's all pirated, and some not. And Gelo graphically describes why Munich is R18 (it involves a nude woman and spilling blood. Now that actually gets some people up. Sad, sad lives...)

Then he shows us the TV room, and describes how since most of the priests go to the AV Room, nag-uunahan daw sila sa TV room, since there are only three seats, and one TV. Brother watches Pinoy Big Brother.

So he leads us to the kitchen where we dunk the used dishes into plangganas of water. We proceed back to the place and head on straight, seeing Xavier from a long time ago in the photographs, to the garden of Father Art(uro). We check out the stuff, he explains that they're all under experimentation, and one was exposed to Gamma Rays. They're all less than a year old. He explains the greenhouse effect with the plastics around the plants. That way, they grow faster. We should throw plastic over orchards and see what happens.

Brother also says to Father: "Na nonotice ma ba na kapag may dinadala akong estudyante dito, lagi ko silang dinadalaw sa may garden mo? So that they can see the magnificence of your garden..." Then we all laugh a bit, then head down again and go back to Teacher's Workroom. God, that place was beautiful.

Filbert, Gelo, Michael and I talk for a few more minutes and they explain how 2A was broken up (and poor, poor Guido (tssss) got isolated in C. Now why am I not saddened by that? Gee, I wonder...). They actually made Ms. Catahan cry. Damn. No matter how mean she is, I can see her good side every day. I can. So she had her shortcomings. Tao lang yan. She should not have been hurt like that.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mr. Young and I talked. We've actually been talking a bit, on and off for the past few days. I even reprimanded him for talking to **** and ******* about their places in the elections. I thought it was extremely improper for him to talk to them about it. I mean, I didn't even figure it out when Evan got one, but when he mentioned Filbert was also called... the mental wheels clicked and I about grinded Mr. Young into the cement. What was he thinking? Really? That was just... I mean, jeez. He was literally being backed into a wall.

Now that I think about it, that was kind of funny.

Anyway, it was on one of these conversations with him that I swore out loud for the first time in .. how long, Walter? Kenn? I know these people used to keep track.

And it was from a realization. That H2 is ending. I don't wanna be one of those people who are caught unawares and only realize how much they're going to miss H2 on the last day, right after the tests. That'd suck. Like me last year, H1.

Lots of things, really. And i am beginning to feel bad about myself.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been really impatient with a lot of my friends lately. Some of the stuff they say is so... repetitive. I'm tired. Mr. Young even tried to counsel me. Yuh-huh. How are you going to fix the horny guy? No offense, you know who you are. No offense.

Math has been a real bitch. If I get another 79, someone dies. Someone in the Math department who can't teach.

Jesus Christ Superstar, XS style was really rather lame. James Lee was good, the... the girl that played Mary Magdalene was good. Judas, the focus of the play, the strongest character, sucked like shit. Andrew says it should have been Marvin Ong (the really good singer, but could not because his grades were dropping or something), but it was changed later on.

Oh god.

WHY???? YOU RUINED JUDAS' CHARACTER!!!!!!!!! I've seen three renditions of this play, and this one makes four. Judas was exemplary in all three, except this one.

I'm very disappointed with their choice of Judas.

Anyway, afterwards, I went to Ash Creek, saw Robertino, Raphie, Martin, Gerick, Alphonso, and a girl named Mika. Later on, a first year named Ralph joins us. But we have a blast talking about things. Martin also now knows that I know. Hmm...

Elsewhere, the requirements have just been flying straight at me. I don't wanna deal with that. That's just... sickening and annoying.

There's this really beautiful song...

I Love You Always Forever by Donna Lewis

Feels like I'm standing in a timeless dream
Of light mists and pale amber rose
Feels like I'm lost in a deep cloud of heavenly scent
Touching discovering you

Those days of warm rains come rushing back to me
Miles of windless summer nights
Secret moments shared in the heat of the afternoon
Out of the stillness soft spoken words

Say say it again

CHORUS:
I love you always forever
Near and far closer together
Everywhere I will be with you
Everything I will do for you

You've got the most unbelievable blue eyes I've ever seen
You've got me almost melting away

As we lay there under a blue sky with pure white stars
Exotic sweetness a magical time
Say say it again

Say you'll love love me forever
Never stop not for whatever
Near and far and always and everywhere and everything
Say you'll love love me forever
Never stop not for whatever
Near and far and always and everywhere and everything

NOPE! THIS ENTRY AIN'T OVER YET!!!!!!!!!

I asked Mr. Lacon if he knew this song yesterday... he suddenly starts singing it. Well, hello, he is the Trance King. Damn... they broke up.

Anyway, Mr. Lacon and Mr. Young can talk very very gay sometimes...

Example:
*Mr. Young fixes things on his table*
Me: God, you're more O.C. than I am.
Mr. Lacon: Oo, e, talaga naman yang maarte e. Maalembong.
Mr. Young: ANONG MAALEMBONG???
Mr. Lacon: *mockingly* *acting gay* Maalembooong.

Mr. Lacon and Mr. Young have a sort of "schedule":

-Mr. Lacon comes by to ask Mr. Young whether he's going already or not.
-Mr. Young replies No or Yes, and either proceeds to rant about all the things he still has to do, or show Mr. Lacon the work he's already prepared to bring home.
-Mr. Lacon then asks him something about non-Guidance related work.
-Mr. Young has forgotten, and swears, then thinks of a solution, then procrastinates it to a later date.
-Mr. Lacon reasons with him.
-Mr. Young swears again, and goes to do it.

That is how every single day occurs for them. My God.

Mr. Lacon, I believe, hates English. See, Mr. Young knows that I'm more fluent in English than in Filipino. So when he speaks to me and Mr. Lacon at the same time, he speaks in Filipino with Mr. Lacon, and English with me.

Example 2:
Mr. Young: *says something that I can't remember to Mr. Lacon*
Mr. Lacon: Sus, huwag ka nang mag-English...

Maybe it comes from his in/dis/un/nega-fluency in English?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Avatar: The Last Airbender is the best ever. I love this show, i swear. I love it. I have all the episodes. Waterbending is the best! The best I swear!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember that wrist thing I used to do with Carlo/Marc/Michael/everyone? Well, I did it to Mr. Young and Mr. Lacon. Mr. Lacon has very thin wrists, by the way.

Anyway, I could tell Mr. Lacon was a weightlifter from his wrists. They're both very light drinkers.

With Mr. Young, I thought he weight lifted too, but turns out, he used to do manual labor around the house when he was in the province... Um, maybe it's just me, but Chinese in a Philippine Province seems so... impossible.

The conversation soon zooms (sooms) to Mr. Young encouraging Mr. Lacon to do Cardio. Mr. Lacon says he does--with the amount of walking he has to do from XS to his house, he must have the heart of a rhino.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Body Works... was pathetic. Ours didn't seem very good.

Ours was rather... stupid. It's like, everything's all funny, and then suddenly... death. With hallucinogens, dancing with Bulldogs, and the Green Goblin/The Mask made a return in the form of Grim Reaper Michael Yap.

I blew red confetti across the stage during the fight scenes. Yes, that was my job. And in the process, I lost my clipboard.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dad's birthday was yesterday.

We ate in a Mediterranean (mostly actually just greek) restaurant. As we ate, (and I had a lamb gyro that sucked because either it was just too much lamb, or the good parts with the sauce and the vegetables had been bitten away by the rest of the family. Yes, they each had a bite (and an especially large "bite" (that's several normal mouthfuls) from Alex) so what was left for me? I felt robbed. I got 2/5 of the 190 pesos it cost to get one)

There was a Caucasian foreigner and a Filipina prostitute in a table far to the north east from where I was seated. When they left, unsurprisingly, another Caucasian foreigner and Filipina prostitute.

Angin tells me that the slang word for "prostitute" in HK is Ye5 Gaai1: Wild Chicken. How fitting.

Then later, we see two girls, both in yellow and black miniskirts, walk up to them and start acting all sleazy. Or to me, they were anyway. Andrew and Alex start making comments. As the girls chatter and make their legs more noticeable, Andrew and Alex dub their conversation.
Andrew: Oh, hot Caucasian boy in blue, pick me tonight.
Alex: Oh, no, pick me! Pick me! I'm hotter!
Andrew: No! Pick me! I don't mind threesomes!
Alex: Now, now, girls, there's enough of me to go around... You'll all get your turn.

The girls then walk to the table beside ours and start talking about Johnny Walker. Yes, Johnny Walker. As in the liquor brand that Uncle Jake works for. Apparently, there's a mini-golf thing outside that you can play for. BUT you have to buy a shot of Johnny Walker. How much? 200 pesos. For a measley shot. To roll a golf ball into a hole so you can get a hat, and if you do that 3 straight times, you can swap the hat in for a golf bag.

Andrew then decides to fool them.
Andrew: Have you done it?
Her: Me? Yeah. I did it in my first try.
Andrew: Oh really? Why don't you show me. If you make it, then I'll buy a shot.
Her: Oh... um... Well, no, come on, I swear, I've done it before.

We fool them a bit more, and they depart a tad later after we politely refuse.

Then we leave and go home and I give dad the card.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Romeo and Juliet: The Elocution was actually pretty good. Although, not enough to impress anyone, so I haven't a clue how Ms. Ladrido was impressed.

As Carlo Roman (I can't believe I'm actually quoting this guy) said, "It was Forget-Your-Lines-Win-An-Award Day!" Francis Dueñas won, and he forgot half his lines. My God. And he kept saying "Her eye in Heaven." and then people would laugh.

Wesley... forgot a bunch of em too, and he won third place.

Then Jake Yu (fat guy... weird) won second.

And Francis Dueñas, again, of all people tied with Timoy at first. And as Henry said, THEY JUST HAPPENED TO HAVE A SPARE MEDAL.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We had popped corn in English. Damn.

Filipino: Watched a movie called La Visa Loca. Nice. Ish. The climax was when he was nailed to the cross. Oh my god... that was the most blatant reference to Pasyon.

Science: We were running around the Sacred Heart garden for the second period for our activity on Pulse Rate.

HEADS UP, YO!!!!!!!!!! MRS. VASQUEZ IS BACK!!!!!!!!!! NOT ONLY WAS HER SON'S OPERATION SUCCESSFUL (God bless) BUT SHE'S BACK!!!!!!! BACK HERE!!!!!!!! I MISS YOU, MRS. VASQUEZ!!!!!!! (I can't believe I just said that) WE WANT YOU BACK AS OUR TEACHER!!!!!!!!

I miss her teaching style... and her patience. Much better temper than Ms. Catahan.

Anyway, that's all I can remember for now... next time, again.

That was one hell of an update.

One week left and it's QTs, then Summer. Jackie and Katan will be leaving, Kenn and Nicky will be leaving, Walter will be gone... just Christian and me left...

At least I have some people to look forward to next year...

I'll miss everyone...

Tying Up All My Loose Ends
POSTED AT 08:21 AM

I gave the Buddhist Scriptures back to Di-yi... Auntie Vicky... Di-yi sounds weird. I wish I could type Chinese on this computer...

Anyway, I also brought the Cantonese book to Diko David (Yes, Jackie, the one you got me...) He wants to learn e. I just had to explain some basic grammar and the sound system and the tone system, and the Hong Kong Supplementary Character Set.

Hmm...

I've finished the calendar, but I have no heart to start studying for my math make-up tomorrow, the summative test, or the Portfolio. I just want it to be next Sunday already! The end of all tests!

Urghit.

TIIIIIIIRED.

SLEEPY.

JUNK FOOOOOOOOOD.

I don't wanna do anything anymore. I wanna be unburdened.

Warning: The following content is not for a) minors b) people who have no sense of humor. Other than that, proceed...

Days Are Forever, even with you...
POSTED AT 06:34 AM

Some things are just bigger than love.

And I love love, really, it's what brings worlds together...

But love is just a thorn (okay, a very big one) in my side. And all these people that I love (in the romantic sense... all my friends and family are God-sends) just need to go away now so I can be friends with them and we can continue life normally.

It's hard to explain, but I can really say that I've had enough love, and want to get on with my dreams. But love has this annoying way of getting back at/to you. You don't wanna know.

Anyway, yeah, yeah, this year has been full of surprises and great events... blah, blah, blah, fell in love TWICE god... etcetera, etcetera... bitter with O etcetera... balderdash, balderdash, okay... stopping with the whole nostalgia thing now. It might asphyxiate me.

And we wouldn't want that now, would we?

So the past few days have been hell week + QTs. 3 QTs down, two more to go... which are, as luck would have it, the two hardest: Soc Sci + math. Cursed math. Who I am going to study with a Tutor in UST (Look Mr. Young, UST! That's where the DEAN of Math is) later, at 4:30, and seal my doom. But hey, i'll see UST, and get good grades in Math tomorrow. The lessons are fairly easy... it's just the practice that i lack... anyway...

Summer is coming. No Taiwan. No Hong Kong. No China. But... what's missing from the list?

Yup, that's right.. Canada is coming soon!

I'm going, oh YESS i'm going. But for only two weeks. Our trips to Canada get shorter by the year....

This is unfair. A month and a half to three weeks to two weeks...

HATE!!!!!!!!!! I WANNA EFFING LIVE IN CANADA BUT NOOOOOO, DAD SAYS I HAVE TO COME BACK...

To Quote Ms. Natonton: Don't like!

Well, so Kenn wants to star in a paragraph--here ya go, Kenn! You are presently reading a paragraph that is all about you. This paragraph's sole purpose is to fulfill your enjoyment of starring in a paragraph. You are still reading a paragraph about you. Isn't that great?

Ehehehehe...

Heh.

But seriously... Kenn's an overall nice guy... if not a bit... ehem... basta.

Okay, anyway... boredom and refusal to study... DON'T WANNA HAVE A TEST TOMORROW!!!!!!! Just want the damn gimmick already...

CANTONESE-NESS!!!!!!!!

YES, LAOSHI SPOKE CANTONESE WITH ME! WELL, ARVIN, FILBERT, EVAN, HENRY, PAOLO AND A FEW OTHERS... INCLUDING RENO, ALEX'S CLASSMATE...

BUT CANTONESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Her dialect really is a tad different from the HK Canto dialect. Like the way she said zok man... zuo wen... she said zok mun... or something... basta not the way HK-ers say it.

LOOOOOOVE CANTONESE!!!!!!!!!

Nicky, seriously, don't pass up your opportunity.

Oh my god. Tomorrow's the last day... shit.

Ipasasalin daw ni Mr. Young yung sinulat ko sa papel kay Ms. Wong (He Laoshi sounds better to me...)... shyeah right... what're you gonna get out of it? Lol... but anyway... i guess that's sort of like my message to the school... goodbye, i'll worry about you even when i'm far away... hope you're still as strong as you are... and (as impossible as it is, as i hate XS) I hope you're still here when i come back...

I miss Canada. Evan, do you feel that too? I seem to recall something he put on his blog... when i tagged him with an "I miss Canada..." he replied something like "Yes me too... more than you'll ever know" or SOMETHING like that...

Elsewhere, WE SAW LAOSHI ON TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Itchyworms homecoming... Walter commented that it made you proud to be XS-ian... and he retched when he saw Isorena. "YOU!!!!!!"

Lol.

Anywhooo... Laoshi was so... laoshi-y on MTV...

Canto-pop... burning a CD for a friend...

A Not-So-Good Bang to end my torture
POSTED AT 01:48 PM

EDIT: Oh my holy fucking God. I just realized today's the beginning of vacation. So many things were wrong with my last day.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Oh my god.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: New code nomenclatures in effect now. I just realized how much I like A. My God. This sucks.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So yup.. today was the last day of school. Soc Sci was a tad confusing, but I know I at least passed. Math ...

Well, okay...

Let me begin with the fact that I spent three and a half hours in UST yesterday (yes, kudos, Mr. Young) all for my math.

I waited two and a half, and spent the last hour being taught. Yes, that's right. I waited two and a half hours of those three and a half simply waiting for my math tutor. Now it is certainly NOT her fault, because the other students in UST had a defense today, so she had to help them, but what i am saying is that i blame fate. I missed my dinner because I had to wait.

Fuckit.

But hey, the campus of UST was still pleasantish.

I came home in a baaaaaaad, baaaaaaaaaaaad mood.

I hadn't had dinner, so I did.

Then today, I went to school and got my portfolio. I now wanna massacre Mr. Perez. So yeah, my portfolio sucked, but it was creative, and i deserved at least a ninety.

Anyway, Soc Sci was confusing, and I end the year with Ms. Natonton with what I started it with: an everlasting wave of the hand.

See, at the start of the year, around the time when we first met, i just started waving. And then I was distracted by someone that asked me a question, and I didn't notice that I had been waving all that time. And Ms. Natonton had been waving back the whole time. So we continued until nangawit yung kamay niya, and we stopped.

So I did that kanina, as she was right outside the principal's office, and I guess she remembered, cos she played along and waved and waved and waved and finally, she gave up too. Good memories.

I didn't see Laoshi to tell her my goodbye speech...

Didn't see Mr. Young to talk about the final stuff that he needed to talk to me about/I needed to talk to him about...

DID see Ms. Joya, Ms. Lampa, the ITC people, Ms. Gorospe, Ms. Catahan, Ms. Espiritu/Mrs. Mallo, Mr. Guevarra, Mrs. Ocampo, and countless other people that I got to say goodbye to. Oh, and Brother Haw (who was waiting for the Fil Adv outside the workroom to give us our QT scores) and Bro. Lim (who was my proctor during Math), both of which won't be here next year. I will specifically miss Bro. Haw though... he's a really good teacher... kawawa yung mga classes that will never have him as a teacher...

I got my other recopies of the Soph Night pics today... will give them to Alexis tomorrow...

The Star of the Paragraph: KENN!!! (surprise.) Gian tells me about what happened in the MPH:
Kenn: I've given up porn!
*lightning strikes*... *on a clear day* Walter starts laughing.

Math was horrendously easy.

I CAN'T FUCKING BELIEVE IT. I STAYED..FOR...OVER...THREE HOURS... YESTERDAY... IN UST... WAITING FOR MY MATH TUTOR... AND I PAYED 500 PESOS FOR THAT EFFING TUTOR SESSION... AND I MISSED DINNER... AND TODAY, I DID NOT EVEN BREAK A SWEAT... ANSWERING...MATH...

I feel cheated.

God must rain fire on Math tests.

Elsewhere, Bert and I are apparently on good terms again...

So afterwards, we had the promised gimmick that I had so very much awaited. That is, after much walking around and wasting time.

Kenn, Walter, Christian and I all stick ourselves in my car and ride to e-Lanes. We dress up, and Walter, without my knowledge, tells his mom "Allen be kiao di kong geng dang uwei." (Allen will speak cantonese with you) (in fukien).

Walter's mom looks at Kenn and asks if he's Allen. Walter and Kenn point at me. She asks me "Nei hai tong ngo gong gong dong wa?"

I replied "Wui." yeah, that's the wrong answer, but it's cos I first thought she was asking if I could speak Cantonese with her, not if i WOULD. She asks me something, and embarassingly, I did not understand her. She had to speak in English. I feel stupid. Humiliated.

Crap. WALTER, THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULDN'T SURPRISE ME LIKE THAT!!! MY CANTONESE SUCKS!!! Hehe... but thanks for the opportunity to speak with your mom anyway...

Anyway, we get to Promenade and the following happens:
- Someone, I won't say who, says: I need to crap. Then he laughs his head off.
- consider watching a movie, but don't, because Christian can't come.
- eat lunch at Teriyaki Boy, where Christian schemes free food.
- play DotA (THEY FORCED ME!!!!!!! *CRIES* I didn't even like the game. I kept dying...
- I buy Harry Potter 4.
- meet Paolo and his family at Timezone, Kenn and I kill dinosaurs (shit, nakakasindak yan, putik! Na-trauma ako sa mga dinosaurs... Kenn got bitten out by the T-Rex. I got killed by Brachiosaurus dung, believe it or not), we are awed by Christian's hand-game prowess (he can do it with the red and blue thingies invisible... my god), and watch people play air hockey.
- we walk around the perimeter of Virra Mall, when we could have just walked the other direction. My legs hurt afterwards.
- We checked out the section of Virra Mall that Henry Sy (was it?) got.

Well, suffice it to say that I wasn't happy with the way the gimmick turned out.
I was unhappy.

But at least Christian is happy. He's the only one that's gonna be left here...
Walter/Me/Nicky: Canada
Jackie/Katan: China (nooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!)
Kenn: Singapore

But it's not like Christian's gonna be lax. He's training in Badminton for the first time (which I do not believe, because he's so damn good! HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET THAT GOOD WITHOUT TRAINING?????) And he's going to Repertory (you will get in, those tryouts will be a breeze)! And he has a Singaporean cruise in April!

And i'm really, really, really gonna effing miss everyone this year.

FUCK IT ALL

Hold You Now by Ronan Keating

If I could just hold you now
If I could just feel you now
I wouldn't be standing out in the rain
Pounding my heart back through my brain
If I could just hold you now

If I could just get inside
If I could just read your mind
I wouldn't be shaking this hard tonight
Wouldn't be choking back all this pride
If I could just hold you now

How many times can we try to keep this grace of love alive
How many tears can I tell you all the things you need to hear
If I could just hold you now
If I could just feel you now
I wouldn't be standing out in the rain
Pounding my heart back through my brain
If I could just hold you now

Ain't it funny how we had it all
Ain't it funny how it might fall
Guess that we were just a space in time
But it felt so real, it felt so right

If I could just hold you now
If I could just feel you now
I wouldn't be shaking this hard tonight
Wouldn't be choking back all this pride
If I could just hold you now

How many times can we try to keep this grace of love alive
How many tears can I tell you all the things you need to hear
If I could just hold you now
If I could just feel you now
I wouldn't be standing out in the rain
Pounding my heart back through my brain
If I could just hold you now

Woah, if I could just hold you
Woah, yes I should've told you
If I could just hold you now
If I could just feel you now
I wouldn't be standing out in the rain
Pounding my heart back through my brain
If I could just hold you now

First set of poems
POSTED AT 03:08 PM

You know what?

You possess no harm
You're out of your charm
Love or disgust, it's all the same to me
When I lost one, I lost the other
By doing what you did, you set me free
Now I don't even fucking bother

Because you were just a day's loss
No reason to be cross
Me or you
I dropped your face into that puddle of ink
Memory's bliss, forgetting you
Watching your visage sink

Yeah, you're gone forever
And irony of ironies would be
That after we've been cold, angry and bitter
We could start over as friends, you and me

Ain't that great?

---------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, bittersweet days are actually sweet
When you can see how meanings meet
Being friends was no pain
When the love I nurtured was in vain

Did it matter that I loved you so?
That you would never, ever know?
Does it matter that I may never get my embrace?
When all the honesty and love is on your face?

Hold our hands together
You'll see where I'm coming from
Wait for the days to get better
The blessings have yet to come

You say we're close, closer
While I twist around with my answer
Gentle as we get, tired am I
Now is not the time for me to be shy

I could stand forever and a day
Thinking of the things about you that I'd say
Were I ever confronted with life to death,
Wouldn't say a word, I'd leave you with a breath

Second set of poems
POSTED AT 12:38 PM

Although I might actually just put one...

The way your body moves right here
Burns the primal instinct, I revere
And you twist and slide
And our beliefs collide

But I can't deny that you smolder
So as I touch your gentle shoulder,
Feel the strength and grace in every cell
Softness quelled under an unforgiving shell

Not a twitch on that mask you call a face
I can see warmth under a cold, cold case
I can't stress enough to way you make me feel
So I won't, bless the emotions i won't reveal

Oh, to hold your hands, your heart in my soul
Soft, tender, but lithe and whole
Crushing under my grasp
It should be mine in their clasp

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, so I put two..

Dark chocolate skin
Take your form out for a spin
I love the way your hair might feel
You might just be the one to help me heal
All these silly cuts and bruises
That everyone simply chooses
To look past and let slip by
Same time, miss my soul passing by
Wish we wouldn't be so far away from each other
I pretend I don't see you, you pretend not to bother
Or at least, I hope that's all you're doing
Keeps me from all the actions i might be misconstruing
Wishing your "friends" would just piss off and step away
So that you and I can have our one-on-one day
Together, hand in hand, as it was meant to be
Oh, one of these days, I'll say it, and then we'll see

Bye, Guys
POSTED AT 11:08 PM

Kenn left yesterday for his Singapore trip.

That was officially the beginning of our coming apart as a kada. He wanted out addresses too... i suspect it's for some kind of pasalubong.

Yesterday was also graduation--Alex's graduation from High School. This prompted mom to rush to buy a camera, which dad got mad at her for because it was double the price they had agreed upon. Andrew and Alex fruitless attempted to explain to him that you can't get a decent camera for the price he had set. I numbly watched the following events drift by.

It was mostly boring, more ceremonial than exciting, but I did see a lot of teachers, said hello to most. Didn't get to say goodbye to a single one. Or rather, i didn't want to. With all the goodbye's i'm already making, having to see each teacher off (especially the ones I'm close with) would be heartbreaking, and maddeningly sad. So I just held on to the hope that we might meet again, or that we would at least never forget each other (Brother Haw, Brother Lim, Ms. Castro, even Mr. Cadjigal). Thank god lots of the other teachers are coming back (Mr. Young, Mr. Lacon, Ms. Wong), as well as all of my friends (save for Nicky, of course, which is definitely going to affect Christian's barkada... maybe Walter can help?)

I saw Jackie and her family at Chateau 1779 yesterday, and it was really odd. Meggie was also celebrating her graduation, and so we said our hi's, and we got down to eat.

I began listening to the iPod, and in the cold hominess of the restaurant, I asked Angin what the lyrics to Zhou Hua Jian's Ai Xiang Sui meant.. I know not EVERYTHING can relate to me and my friends' current fix, but I'll bold the lines that do:

爱相随 - 周华建

别想你 忍不住我提醒自己

伤了心 有些事也要过去

心很痛 痛地不想再做我自己

别回头 情已去缘已尽

很想你 也不是因为失去你 (actually, it is)

爱了你 用尽我全心全力一生情

只为这一次与你相遇

情难了 难再续难再醒

人分飞 爱相随 (<---the embodiment of everything that i'm ranting about here)

那怕用一生去追

我又怎么能追得回

与你想慰

我为你痴 为你累

风雨我都不后悔

我又怎么有路可退

曾经深情 你给了谁 ?

我如何面对?

Wala Kayong Kwenta
POSTED AT 10:50 AM

Ironically
POSTED AT 01:34 PM

The entries that mean something to me garner zero comments from anyone. But the entries that are mostly just random rants instigate controversy. WHY??? WHY IS THE WORLD LIKE THIS???

I woke up feeling... clean. Nevertheless, I bathed again.

Today's Itinerary:
-Alex and I go to XS to get our grades.
-Alex leaves to go home and have his report card signed, while I stay.
-Alex goes to La Salle to enroll.
-Driver comes back to fetch me at four.
-I go to the office to work, and then go home.

Alex and I left the house at 12:15-ish, because he squabbled around looking for his La Salle acceptance letter. He madly shouted out death threats to "whichever ass bucket idiot" it was that stole his letter.

We arrive at the office, and I insist on speaking Taishanese with dad. Actually, I'm kind of worried about learning, because the level of my Taishanese is like, think-for-a-few-seconds-utter-a-word-think-another-few-seconds-utter-another-word-finally-form-a-sentence-after-a-minute. But that's how I was with Cantonese, so not that bad. I'll just have to wait for a while, exert genuine effort to speak some, and I'll be fluent ala Cantonese. Taishanese, here I come! I've actually kind of resolved to forcing Angin, Dad and Flora to speak Taishanese with me... I don't know why. Flora is our employee at the office, by the way. She speaks Mandarin, Fukien, Canto/Taishanese, Filipino, and a little English.

So Alex and Mom blather, Dad and I chatter, and we all leave merrily on our way at 12:56. We arrive there at 1:09-ish and walk to school under the pouring rain. So I go ahead, grab my grades, and see... Ms. Natonton. Ehem, yes.

Say hi and stuff, and she really did finish burning those CDs! WOW! I thought she'd NEVER finish them, but miracles do happen. (I sound so Filbert-y. I'm channeling him... or he's influencing me.)

So I check my grades out, and here are my grades for the four quarters:

C = corrected

It follows the following format: Subject, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

C.L.E...............86..............88..............86(C)..........89

English........... 91..............89..............94..............91

Filipino............89..............88...............92..............90

Math...............80..............82...............79..............89

Science...........82..............91...............88..............87

Chinese..........89..............94...............96..............95

Soc. Sci...........91..............87...............93..............94

Okay, so yeah, they're not exactly admirable grades. But I am proud of my Chinese grades, and the improvement of my math grades. Continuing with my story...

I went upstairs and began to talk to Mr. Young about... stuff. His whole room was practically empty. Anyway, I note the two yellow sheets of paper on his desk that had been there since the start of the year, and he says they're the "directories" that each teacher has (the phone numbers of every department on the local line), so naturally, they're important. I can see he's "personalized" them too. Anyway, later, Mr. Lacon comes by and asks for scratch paper. There is none--nary a pen in sight. As in everything is downstairs in their boxes. So Mr. Lacon searches the ... bag for some. Mr. Young and I register a look of disgust. I slam the door shut.

Anyway, so we chat, we talk about in depth stuff and it turns out, a bunch of people have been getting prank calls from someone who purports to be Mr. Young, and has been saying that they lack requirements for something about Bilibid. He sets things right and we continue to talk until he is called up by Mr. Mamunlok (the dad of the dude in... Khampus.) and asking about some achievement test that he had neglected to take, and they talk for a very long time (thank God I had my iPod with me). So he asks me to go with him downstairs while he faxes the particulars to the dad from the Principal's office.

I sit outside and wait, and see Michael. I demand from him whether he... and he says he didn't. I say good. We walk around some more, I let Michael listen to Shan Hu Hai (which has been stuck in my head all day, thanks to Chai.), and he says "Okay lang." At least he had an open mind.

So Mr. Young comes out after a very long time, and we had back to his office. Little conversation is done before he is called down to 4H to help Mr. Bumatayo with the H4 stuff. Funny, I thought he was H3. We head down to 4H, and realize it's empty. Mr. Young asks Mr. {Emmanuel} Santos where he is, and he says in 4A. Okay, that phone must be checked for transmission problems.

We enter the room, and I see the desks have all been put aside, some in a circle for all the sections' class advisers, with their own tables and a large wide space in the middle. So Mr. Young takes a seat, and so do I, and Mr. Perez is there and we chat. Reno (Ong. WAIT!!! Why is his name ONG??? It should be WONG because he's from Hong Kong!!! Something to ask him when I see him next time, cos Alex has no idea either. His Chinese name is Wang Rui.) comes and hands me... a book. At first, I was unsure of whether I get to keep it or if he was just showing me, but when I saw a whole bunch of people had a copy, there was my answer.

Oh my God. He frickin' wrote a book. At first, he slapped it into my chest (well, not exactly slapped) and i looked at it and asked him what it was. Then I noted that "It's a book!" "...written by you!" Mr. Young goes "Yeah! Hindi mo alam?" And I go, "No, I didn't." So I browse through it with interest and... OMFG I CAN UNDERSTAND IT!!!!!!!! AND IT'S a) IN FANTI and b) DEEP CHINESE!!!!!!!!

It's entitled The Cage, and it's cool.

So I have a seat, and finally demand the... from Mr. Young. Yep. Finally. Mr. Young suddenly begins to obsessively count, recount and rerecount the numbers, since they didn't add up. Even after I ever so meticulously recounted them myself, they didn't add up. We were stumped. Mr. Perez then told him to just ask why it was so, and they began recounting as I left.

I hung around with Filbert and the bunch a bit after that, but only for a very short while.

The joy of being Tsinoy
Posted: 8:19 AM (Manila Time) | Sep.. 10, 2002

INQ7.net

CHINESE-FILIPINOS are proud of their rich cultural heritage, which throughout the centuries has included not only Chinese and Filipino (Malay) but also Spanish and American influences.

Tsinoys, as they are known in the Philippines, are an integral part of Philippine society -- not least of all as business leaders and entrepreneurs. Wherever they may relocate around the globe, Tsinoys are keeping in touch with their Chinese and Filipino roots while adapting to the culture of different countries.

One site that has succeeded in becoming a thriving online community for Chinese-Filipinos is Tsinoy.com at www.tsinoy.com. Tsinoy.com founder, president and CEO Dux Raymond Sy said that the site aims to build stronger ties between the Tsinoy and Filipino communities.

"Tsinoy.com regularly features informative cultural articles and personality interviews that can help both Tsinoys and Filipinos learn more about their respective cultures. In addition, the active and lively discussions in our message board, http://www.tsinoy.com/forum, has greatly assisted in fostering better understanding between Tsinoys and Filipinos," Sy said in an e-mail interview.

Atlanta, Georgia-based Sy is also a member of the board of directors of Tsinoy.com.

Chinese-Filipinos in the Philippines, particularly during the past, have had to deal with prejudice and misconceptions. Even today, Tsinoys are the targets of kidnappers, due to their economic success.

Asked to assess how Chinese-Filipinos are now perceived in Philippine society, Sy replied: "The perception of the Tsinoy community in the Philippines has greatly improved in the last few years. Gone are a lot of stereotypes and prejudices. I've also noticed that Tsinoys are more 'visible' in mainstream Philippine society ranging from the arts to sports to academia."

He, however, added that he would like to see other positive developments, including "more tri-media exposure of worthy Chinese-Filipino achievements and contributions."

Acknowledging the need to help overseas Tsinoys and Filipinos remember their Philippine heritage, Sy recounted his own experience while studying and working in the US.

"I was born and raised in Manila. I have been here for only six years but I've come to appreciate my cultural heritage a lot more after coming here. Assimilating into American culture is not too bad since I have been pretty much exposed to Western culture while
growing up in the Philippines. Friends and colleagues here would not fail to tell me of my fortunately unique multi-cultural background. I realize that it is to my advantage in today's global society," he said.

Saying that he misses his family and close friends in the Philippines, Sy tries to go back to the country once a year, if time permits. He also quipped that he definitely misses the food. Apart from traditional Filipino dishes such as kare-kare, binagoongang baboy, sinigang and sisig, Sy said that his favorites include Chinese dishes such as dimsum and Szechuan cuisine.

"And for dessert, nothing beats halo-halo," he added.

According to Sy, Tsinoy.com began as a spin-off of "Tsinoys on the Web," a site which went online in January 1997. He conceptualized the site right after moving to Atlanta, since at the time Tsinoys had no Chinese-Filipino resource available on the Web.

As the site grew into an online community, Sy and five Philippine-based friends decided to launch Tsinoy.com in August 1999.

"The organic growth of this 'online' community led to 'offline' activities such as socio-civic involvement, social gatherings and education advocacy. To date, local Tsinoy.com chapters have been formed in major cities such as the Manila, Singapore, Taipei, Shanghai, New York, Bay Area, Southern California, Tri-State Area and Toronto," he said.

Sy admitted that Tsinoy.com has exceeded his original vision, organically growing from an online reference about Chinese-Filipino culture to a user-led online community.

"In partnership with (Manila-based publisher) Anvil, we came out with our first book, 'How Tsinoy Are You?' The book is a milestone in Philippine Internet history: It is the first endeavor by a website to publish a book entirely created by an online community," he said.

So, looking to find out more about the rich Filipino and Chinese culture heritage? Visit Tsinoy.com -- and find out why you don't have to be Tsinoy to appreciate this site.

I'm proud and glad to be part of this community.

Elsewhere, last night, i did some things that made me sleep really happy (and it had nothing to do with sex, thank you. Jeez, what have people come to these days???). They are as follows:

- ate strawberries with condensed milk + sugar. DELICIOUS, G-DAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!! I miss my Baguio days. Kudos to Alex for bringing home the two pounds of fresh strawberries that he did.

- had sarsi + vanilla iced cream (Filbert will start badgering me now. Haha!) and now that I've had Dalandan Soda + Vanilla iced cream (Filbert will HATE me now. Hahahaha!), sarsi + vanilla iced cream tastes weird. I want Dalandan Soda!!!!!!!!

The Holy Recipe:

Ingredients: Equal parts of:

Dalandan Soda

Vanilla Iced Cream

1. Mix well.

2. Do not add ice.

3. Condiments are an option.

4. Enjoy!

Basta, you have to try it.

- And the last thing i did was stare at my phone and call up memories. Canada... and the Philippines, and Xavier... and my barkada.... oh yeah, Kenn came back last night. Welcome back, Kenn!
